A Microforest is exactly as it sounds - a very small forest. Microforests come from the Miyawaki method, created by Japanese Botanist Akira Miyawaki. The idea is take a small piece of land where nothing grows and to plant a lot of native and and indigenous plants very close together to create a small forest.

We wanted to reach out to local schools to help us create the Microforest. We want our community to be connected to this space and what better way than having them help us make it!

Our hope is that the microforest will become a thriving space for local animals, like the blue tongue lizard, to call home. This will also be a space for our community to visit, observe and learn about the plants and animals in the microforest.
