Gatehouse works

SMCT completed maintenance work for the historic Gatehouse on College Crecent. This also included the surrounding garden beds.

Strong weather conditions over time had damaged tiles and caused some leaks in the Gatehouse roof. By addressing this damage, SMCT has been able to reduce the risk of structural damage to the property. The works also included essential repairs to the roof and drainage, ensuring the Gatehouse stays in good condition for use now and into the future.

Some roses at the cemetery-facing side of the building and other plants along two sides of the Gatehouse were removed. This was to provide safe and clear access to areas requiring drainage works. New plants were installed at the end of the project to bring the gardens back to life. We replaced like for like in the rose garden while installing other native plants and suitable species along the Royal Park Drive and College Crescent sides of the Gatehouse.
